Hi, I’m Angie Batara.
I have worked in immigration offices for over 30 years. I started in the days of the Special Agricultural Worker and Amnesty programs.
I have seen the ups and downs of immigration law.
While I am not a lawyer, I have been deeply involved in the immigration process, gaining experience and insights that have shaped my understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants and their families.
That’s why I opened Batara Immigration Services, an office designed specifically for those who need guidance, support, and a trusted partner to help them achieve their immigration goals.
Why I Created Batara Immigration Services
You might wonder, “Why is someone who is not a lawyer offering immigration services?”
Let me share my story.
I was born in Mexico. I became a permanent resident, along with my family, in the 1970s. At the age of 17, I became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
I started my career working with Denise Moreno Ducheny, who later became a California State Senator and Policy Advisor for the UCSD Center for U.S. – Mexico Studies.
I also worked with Thomas Mix, who owned one of the largest immigration offices in San Diego County.
Then I joined forces with my husband, Carlos Batara, for over two decades. After many years, we realized immigration services could be divided into two broad categories.
There are some cases that are highly complex and required an immigration attorney to handle.
Yet, there are also immigration services which could be handled by a competent professional who is not a lawyer, but has proper training and experience. This gave birth to my office and this website.
Batara Immigration Services is the embodiment of this mission.
I am a Immigration Consultant.
My functions include:
- Completing federal and state immigration forms (but not advice on how to answer questions)
- Translating your answers to questions on immigration forms, petitions, and applications
- Helping to secure supporting documents, which are necessary to complete your responses for immigration forms
- Submitting your forms, applications, and petitions to the U.S. Citizenship And Immigration Services (USCIS)
- Making referrals to legal representatives for persons in legal matters
I look forward to helping you and your family to live and work legally in the United States – and to become lawful permanent residents and citizens of our great country.
